But with tons of anime to be added this season, this can only be the tip of the iceberg. There’s no way to include every single title here, so here are ten new anime to fuel your checklist in Spring 2024!

10. Kaiju No. 8 (April 2024)

Kaiju No. 8

Kaiju No. 8 is one of Spring’s biggest anime releases. The anime series is about Kafka Hibino who one day wishes to protect humanity alongside his childhood friend Mina Ashiro. The only thing hindering him from going after his dreams is his lack of self-confidence, but all that changes after he rescues a co-worker from a kaiju. In that instance, a parasite enters his body that lets him turn into an epic humanoid monster. This opens up a new world of opportunities for Kafka who joins the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force as the titular “Kaiju No. 8.”

Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8 has finally made its awaited jump from the manga to the screens—giving fans a glimpse of an action-packed world with new characters and storylines to love. Animated by Production I.G (Haikyuu!!, PSYCHO-PASS) and design supervision from Studio Khara (Evangelion films), Kaiju No. 8 is one of the most hype releases this year.

9. Re:Monster (April 2024)

re:Monster

Who doesn’t love a good isekai in Spring? Re:Monster tells the story of Kanata who finds himself reincarnated in a fictional world. Unlike other isekai anime, however, he wasn’t turned into a knight in shining armor or a child prodigy. Instead, he was turned into a goblin. Now named Rou, he must learn to live a new life with his newfound goblin community, learn how to fight, and try not to die for the second time.

Re:Monster is a Japanese light novel series from author Kogitsune Kanekiru. From 2011 to 2018, the series was published on Shosetsuka ni Naro but was later acquired by AlphaPolis and has since then published nine volumes. Studio DEEN heads the production of the anime, the same studio responsible for KonoSuba and Fruits Basket.

8. Bartender: Glass of God (April 2024)

 Bartender: Glass of God

Bartender: Glass of God follows a simple premise. The anime revolves around the story of Ryu Sasakura who’s just amazing at his post behind the bar. It’s been said that this mixology prodigy’s cocktails give customers a rejuvenation and a clear mind to take on their daily challenges in life.

The manga was already adapted into an anime series that boasted 11 episodes in 2006. After 17 years, manga and anime fans are delighted that Bartender: Glass of God is finally back on their screens. From the popular manga series of Araki Joh and Kenji Nagatomo, the much-anticipated TV sequel will once again gain notoriety for its unique plot and characters.

7. Gods’ Game We Play (April 2024)

Gods’ Game We Play

Are you looking for a godly plot this Spring? Then Gods’ Game We Play is here to satisfy your cravings. Living as a god must be very boring, so the only fun solution is to host a competition wherein worthy humans compete against them. The goal of humanity is to beat the gods ten times at their own game, but no mere mortal has managed to overpower these powerful deities. Not until Leshea, a former god, and Fay, a human prodigy, team up and force the hands of the gods!

The series started in 2020 when the web novel was published on Kakuyomu. Written by Kei Sazana, the light novel was picked up by Media Factory (Overlord, No Game No Life) at the start of 2021. This Spring, Gods’ Game We Play will stream on Crunchyroll.

6. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf (April 2024)

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is a story about the legend of the harvest god Holo, a harsh wolf who blesses the fields of humans who please her—ensuring a bountiful crop when harvesting season comes. As farming and agricultural methods grow more efficient alongside the Church getting more recognition, the need for Holo and the traditions that stand by her are unfortunately rendered useless. —Traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence takes the 600-year-old wolf-deity under his care after seeing the goddess asleep in his cart.

When you think of goddesses meeting humans in anime, the usual expectation is a grand adventure that takes the accompanying human on a rollercoaster of events. However, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is a humble journey through a fictional economy that boasts a feel-good story of a developing bond between two very different characters. Isuna Hasekura’s light novel was already adapted into an anime series in 2008 but had a brief life due to how it diverged from the original story. This Spring remake promises to cover the whole plot and, much like 16 years ago, will still be loved by anime fans around the world!

5. Wind Breaker (April 2024)

Wind Breaker

With the rise of delinquent series such as Tokyo Revengers and Bucchigiri to name a few, Wind Breaker continues this renaissance and tells the story of Haruka Sakura. This first-year high schooler from Furin High School isn’t in school to learn. Instead, he’s there to battle only the strongest of the school known for its delinquents.

Wind Breaker is a series created by Satoru Nii in 2021 under publishment by Kodansha. When the martial arts manga series debuted, it was met with fantastic reviews and comments from the public. The anime is handled by CloverWorks (Spy x Family, Horimiya) with director Toshifumi Akai (Fate/Grand Order). Judging by the staff working around the series, Wind Breaker will be one of Spring’s best new anime.

However, a hefty bounty on his head and a relentless detective hot on his trail force him to keep his true abilities hidden.

Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf is a series of novels curated by Baku Yumemakura since 1985. Now, a full anime debut is on the horizon as the new series makes its way to streaming giant Netflix.

3. My Oni Girl (May 2024)

My Oni girl

My Oni Girl is about the story of Hiiragi, a first-year high school student who just can’t seem to get out of his people-pleaser phase. Although wanting to appease everyone, he always seems to find a way to mess things up unfortunately. On one fateful day, his life takes a turn as he meets Tsumugi, an oni girl (a type of demon or troll in Japanese folklore) in search of her mother in the human world. Being the complete opposite of Hiiragi, they take on a whole new adventure together.

My Oni Girl is a new original feature film from Studio Colorido, the studio responsible for Drifting Home. Building on the success of their 2022 film, this anime movie marks the second of three projects in their partnership with Netflix.

 T.P BON

An old anime getting rejuvenated in today’s generation is always a welcome surprise to anime fans. T.P BON, also known as Time Patrol Bon, follows the story of Bon Namihira, your usual high school student. The only unordinary thing about him is that he becomes a time-traveling agent who must save lives from different eras and countries all while surfing the most dangerous events of the world.

T.P BON is a manga series created by Fujiko Fujio, the same creator of anime classic Doraemon, that debuted in 1978. This upcoming Netflix series, however, isn’t the first time we see this time-traveling anime as a film adaptation already premiered in 1989 after the end of the manga. Not only will fans be receiving the anime’s first season, but the second season has already been confirmed to arrive in a huge Summer 2024 anime slate.

1. Rising Impact (June 2024)

Rising Impact

In Rising Impact, the story focuses on third-grader Gawain Nanaumi who loves to hit baseballs out the park. After meeting Kiria Nishino, a female professional golfer, he realizes that golf lets him hit the ball further unlike any other sport. Thanks to growing up in a rural mountain area, Gawain boasts incredible strength and environmental awareness like no other. With this, he rivals even professionals with his impressive swing.

From the creator of the famous action-packed manga and anime series Seven Deadly Sins and its sequel Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Nakaba Suzuki has left Netflix wanting more—beginning with his inaugural work. Celebrating friendship and enthusiasm, Rising Impact has been picked up and loved by many fans during the late 1990s through the early 2000s. This Spring, it debuts to a generation who appreciates sports anime more than ever before.
