Sanemi Shinazugawa Demon Slayer

We are so back! Demon Slayer finally makes its Spring 2024 comeback with its 4th season and has not disappointed fans across the globe—even premiering with a longer episode to show just what’s in store for lovers of the Demon Slayer Corps. Season 3 ended with the beating of a couple of Upper Moons in Swordsmith Village and Nezuko Kamado’s ultimate power: immunity from the sunlight. Zooming out, however, the war between the Demon Slayers and Muzan Kibutsuji’s army has only just begun.

Episode 1 of the 4th season of Demon Slayer has left fans wanting more. The beloved demon-slaying quartet of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke made their return, but the spotlight was undeniably stolen by the eventual showcase of Sanemi Shinazugawa’s Wind Breathing during his raid mission alongside fellow Hashira Obanai. As expected, the anime has done an excellent job of making the Wind Hashira’s breathing style look violent with a pinch of elegance on the side, blowing up social media platforms instantly. Here’s what fans had to say!

What Did Fans Have to Say About Sanemi’s Wind Breathing Style?

In the Season 4 premiere episode, fans had front-row seats to Sanemi, the Wind Hashira, unleashing his Wind Breathing Style in all its glory. Alongside Obanai, the Serpent Hashira, they faced off against demons in a full-on battle to protect a civilian. Sanemi broke through the first line of defense using Wind Breathing, Second Form: Claws Purifying Wind, while Obanai finished the job with Serpent Breathing: Fifth Form: Slithering Serpent.

A fan from X said, “Demon Slayer S4 had a really good opening episode. I like how everything was set into motion. The animation just continues to be beautiful! That opening scene was great. I really like Sanemi’s wind breathing. This episode got me hype for the rest of the season!” This sentiment basically sums up everyone’s reaction to Demon Slayer‘s first episode which debuted on the 12th of May, 2024.

Obanai and Sanemi carried so hard,” said a fan from Reddit. Kudos to Ufotable, too, as it looks as if they were just made to animate breathing styles with one fan from X saying: “Sanemi is just him I really like how animators took their time to animate Sanemi’s wind breathing style

But one fan from X has perfectly encapsulated what it meant to see Sanemi’s Wind Breathing Style in action, tweeting: “HOLY FCKING SH*T SANEMI WIND BREATHING AHHHHHH

What Else Happened in the First Episode of Demon Slayer Season 4?

After throwing you straight into the action, the first episode of Demon Slayer Season 4 focuses most of its time on the Hashiras, particularly those who haven’t had much screen time (to everyone’s delight). That little preview of power from Sanemi’s Wind Breathing has kept fans interested in what the other Hashiras can offer—especially the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima.

The Hashiras, alongside the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps, are determined more than ever to put an end to Muzan and his demons. They urgently gather with Gyomei as their pillar and prepare for the imminent battle against the Demon King. Besides that, the group also addresses the ominous “marks” that appeared on the bodies of Mist Hashira, Muichiro, and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri—answering some of the questions asked by fans after the end of the third season. The meeting ends with Gyomei presenting a new training regimen for the Demon Slayer Corps to better prepare themselves physically and mentally for the war. However, Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka had other plans, as always.

Demon Slayer Season 4 is off to a flying start. The Hashira Training Arc has already surpassed expectations, and fans are eager to see what else is in store story-wise. The introductory scene of Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa puts the icing on the cake—with Sanemi just edging over Obanai in overall coolness. With expectations soaring after the phenomenal first episode, Demon Slayer fans are confident this season won’t disappoint.
