Spoilers ahead! Jujutsu Kaisen is about to end, and JJK 270 marks its penultimate chapter. The upcoming chapter will continue where it left off—a calm atmosphere that re-introduces some old faces after a rigorous war between sorcerers and curses. Will there be yet another surprise in store for the fans? Is someone prominent finally coming back to the series? There’s only one way to tell!
JJK 269 was a fantastic chapter that brought surprises and intriguing revelations. It saw the reveal of Yuta’s fate after controlling Gojo’s body and going toe-to-toe with Sukuna. Thanks to Rika keeping his original body alive, he reunited with the rest of the gang after the war. The previous chapter also saw the remaining sorcerers discuss what could have been done better during the fight. Of course, a reunion isn’t complete without some favorites returning to the series, like Higuruma and foreigners Miguel and Laure.
The biggest revelation during JJK 269 concerns the politics and restrictions bound with Simple Domain. Mei Mei and Kusakabe explained how the life forces of the New Shadow Style students were being drained by their anonymous leader through binding vows and other restriction techniques. Now that the war has ended, Kusakabe has stepped up and declared himself as the school’s new leader, effectively lifting the restrictions that come with learning Simple Domain.
The chapter ended with a flashback of Mei Mei locating and killing the head of the New Shadow Style school. Thanks to Tengen, she learned about the head’s whereabouts and brought up how the great clans of Jujutsu were soon to collapse.
JJK 270 Brings Back Familiar Faces and Sets the Stage for the Final Mission
JJK 270 is a slow but rewarding chapter. It focuses on reintroducing the surviving players of the Culling Game after multiple chapters of their status in the air. Most importantly, the chapter finally reveals what’s in store for the major players during the event, like Tengen, Takaba, and possibly Kenjaku/Geto.
The chapter starts with Megumi and Shoko standing before Tsumiki’s grave, paying their respects. He thanks Shoko for cleaning up the body and wishes his actions brought justice to his sister in the afterlife. He then receives a call about Tengen’s barrier absorbing Sukuna’s remnants that were removed from his body.
The scene changes to Utahime and Gakuganji in front of the barrier. The latter believes that since Sukuna’s remnants were absorbed, the barrier will hold up longer even without Tengen himself. Utahime says they must devise a plan to prevent the barrier from breaking, but Gakuganji refutes it and says that the new generation of sorcerers must learn to take it easy.
After standing beside Maki during the Culling Game, Daido and Miyo are also shown to be alive after a 3v1 against Naoya Zenin’s vengeful cursed spirit. After complaining about how modern Japan prevents people from carrying swords, Maki gives Daido a katana. Charles Bernard, the aspiring mangaka from the Culling Game, is also back grinding for his mangaka dreams after Hakari puts some sense into him during the event.
Takaba is also seen in JJK 270’s leaks, working with an anonymous person for a comedy skit. The person in question has been brought up multiple times on social media, as their silhouette looks eerily similar to Kenjaku’s or even Geto’s. Their status is still in the air, as this could have resulted from Takaba’s CT, allowing him to conjure different realities. Despite confirming Higuruma’s status in JJK 269, he returns wearing his lawyer hat in JJK 270. However, it seems he will continue to work hard as a sorcerer for the remaining future.
Excitingly, Hana (and Angel) is also back with the squad! After raining down Maximum Output: Jacob’s Ladder on Sukuna alongside Yuta, she is shown to survive the war and is now talking to Megumi.
Megumi realizes that Sukuna dug deep into his memories to manipulate Hana during the Culling Game and says he takes full responsibility for what happened. He even offers to be her right-hand man, which Hana misinterprets as his proposal for marriage—forcing the latter to leave awkwardly as he has a mission to partake in.
JJK 270 then ends with Megumi, Yuji, and Nobara on a mission. They sense an energy that may belong to a surviving curse user from the Culling Game. Yuji says this mission will be a breeze with the three back together. This marks the final mission of the trio in the series, circling back to where it all started.
X/Twitter Reacts to JJK 270: Sparking Hope for Gojo’s Return and a Familiar Face?
JJK 270 is a lovely chapter that almost commemorates everyone who has contributed to the Culling Game. After all, who doesn’t love a little reunion? However, like all the chapters after Gojo’s death, fans anticipated JJK 270 to be where their favorite sensei finally returns. Here are some of our favorite takes on the leaks from X (formerly Twitter)!
Death, taxes, and Jujutsu Kaisen leaks are the only certain things in life. With the delay of the release of JJK 270 leaks, fans were even more eager than ever to find out what happens in the penultimate chapter of the series. It came to a point where users theorized how Gege Akutami could integrate Gojo’s comeback in the latest chapter. Imagine him coming out of the coffin and screaming, “How’s that for OPPAPPI?“
One user tweeted: “#jjk270 GOJO, WHERE ART THOU? JJK fandom is on edge! #JJK270 demands GOJO’s glorious return! Theories abound, anxiety grows…“
Among the many surprises that came with JJK 270 leaks, one of the most shocking moments was Takaba talking to a silhouette of a familiar man. Does Gege think he can get away with covering just the face of a man with impeccable hair? Come on now!
A user tweeted out: “gege hiding kenjakus face like we wouldn’t be able to recognize that hair style got me cryin #jjk270“
What would a Jujutsu Kaisen manga chapter be without another Gojo theory? During the last page of the chapter, Megumi reports that there is a “semi-first grade cursed spirit” that survived the Culling Game. Fans have theorized that this could be Gojo Satoru after sacrificing one of his techniques—dropping his energy to only an “annoyance” level.
A Gojo believer said: “tsumiki’s grave shown …. but not gojo’s. why wouldn’t they visit both if they were at the cemetery and gojo was truly dead? HE IS ALIVE #JJK270“
