Moving on swiftly from this year’s new waifu list, 2024 has also brought an expansive collection of stunning men in anime. These husbandos offer more than just dashing looks and alluring physiques; they are kind, resilient, and utterly selfless. With deadly face cards and gentlemanly traits, who dares not wish for an anime husband?
But since anime hasn’t stopped spoiling its fans with handsome bachelors, it could be difficult to specify who your bias would be. Some anime husbandos are righteous and innocent, while some would gladly pick a fight for you. No matter the situation, these men will sacrifice everything to take your hand. They have proven that not only can they make real-life men seem like regular Joes, but they can also look good while doing so. As we near the end of 2024, can we finally set you up with the anime husbando of your dreams?
10. Kazuhiko Nukumizu (Too Many Losing Heroines)
Too Many Losing Heroines has too many candidates for waifus and husbandos, but Kazuhiko Nukumizu is one who instantly stands out. As the series’ main protagonist, it’s hard not to keep an eye on this first-year student from Tsuwabuki High School. Unlike one of our favorite waifus from the series, Anna Yanami, Kazuhiko is an introvert who finds social interactions burdensome. He’d much rather read his favorite novels than converse with people—which is honestly valid.
Despite being socially inept, he shoulders the responsibilities of being a protective big brother to Kaju Nukumizu, the Literature Club’s President, and a solid friend to people he cares about. He goes the extra mile to put a smile on their faces without expecting anything in return. However, the only problem is he doesn’t quite understand how his kindness affects the people around him, making him oblivious to how some of his female friends are taking an interest in him. Often misunderstood, Kazuhiko truly does have a heart of gold, which earned him a spot on our anime husbandos list.
A Reddit user said: “Kazuhiko Nukumizu is the sweetest best boy ever. He is strong and also kind to stand up to them.“
9. Masachika Kuze (Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian)
Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is an amazing anime with an equally amazing set of characters. With Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou already listed in our waifu list, it would only be right to include Masachika Kuze, the series’ male protagonist, in this anime husbando list. Like Alya, Masachika is a first-year student at Seiren Private Academy and serves the student council as a member of General Affairs. He might seem like he doesn’t have a care in the world, but don’t let his messy appearance fool you.
Masachika Kuze hides his innate intelligence through his carefree and humorous demeanor to avoid hogging all the attention and responsibilities of a reliable student like himself. Alya has already fallen for Masachika’s quick wits and “painfully average” (according to himself) looks, even flirting with him in Russian. Little does Alya know that Masachika understands Russian…and on a native level. Despite his lack of effort in school, he is thoughtful and compassionate, putting himself in danger for the people he cares about. Pair that with a relaxed and funny personality, and you’ve got the perfect laidback anime husbando!
A comment on Reddit said: “I love that Kuze has full chad energy, unlike the bumbling and overly simp main characters in most romcoms.“
8. Kafka Hibino (Kaiju No. 8)
Kafka Hibino is Kaiju No. 8‘s pride and joy. He is the series’ main protagonist who fought adversity to become a Defense Force officer after years of being in the background cleaning and examining kaiju carcasses with Monster Sweeper Inc. After achieving his dream of becoming an officer, Kafka obtained a rather troublesome ability to transform into a humanoid-like kaiju after a small kaiju forced its way into his body. Formerly a member of the Third Division alongside his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, Kafka was transferred to the First Division in the Kōtō Ward of Tokyo.
Kafka Hibino is a brute force of determination and dedication. He defies the odds through sheer willpower and mental fortitude despite his physical shortcomings as a 32-year-old. But more than being an embodiment of hard work, Kafka has always gone out of his way to help those in need—whether they like it or not. He offers a hand to everyone, friend or foe, and always wishes them the best. Kafka makes it a point not to disappoint those who believe in him, giving everything he’s got from the starting line. He may randomly transform into an unpleasant kaiju, but this anime husbando will fight tooth and nail for you.

7. Will Serfort (Wistoria: Wand and Sword)
Wistoria: Wand and Sword is home to many different personalities, but none more interesting and anime-husbando material than Will Serfort. He is the main protagonist of the series and one of the many students at Regarden Magical Academy who dreams of becoming a Magia Vander, an exclusive title reserved for only the best mages. However, among these students, he is the only one unable to use magic—relying on his physical capabilities to survive the magic academy. Despite his limitations, nothing can stop him from reaching his end goal: to reunite with his childhood friend, Elfaria Albis Serfort.
Although Will is bullied in the academy for his lack of magical skills, he avoids fighting back and getting revenge. His moral compass is in contention for the top spot against the other anime husbandos in this list, always displaying his honesty and persistence while being mocked and made fun of. Will’s inability to use magic also made him sympathetic towards others—often lending a hand or ear to his allies and helping them conquer their anxiety.
He might not be the strongest or the most skilled magician in the land, but rest assured, he’ll crawl to the top if that’s what it takes. If that’s the kind of anime husbando you want, then Will Serfort might just be your guy!
A comment on a Reddit thread said: “My boy is so perfect, even men are gay for him“
6. Kraft Lawrence (Spice and Wolf)
Hear ye, hear ye! Make way for Spice and Wolf‘s male protagonist, Kraft Lawrence, as he enters our anime husbandos list. Holo, the series’ female protagonist, was a part of our anime waifu list, but that doesn’t mean Lawrence gets a free pass to be included in this one. The 25-year-old traveling merchant deservingly earned his spot through his unique overall charm. With big dreams to set up his own shop, he has bought, sold, and traveled for seven years to master the way of the trade.
Since he was 12, he has lived vicariously through his merchant relative, who taught him about buying and selling. At 18, he applied his merchant knowledge and left to earn enough money to build and manage his shop. This early exposure to traveling, modern society, and merchanting has forced him to grow up a little faster than people his age.
While Lawrence always plans to make massive profits, he does his business ethically and honestly. He treats his customers politely and is often seen to be personable towards his peers. While profit is always on his mind, being a decent person naturally comes to him first. If that’s the type of anime husbando you like, we guarantee you’ll be ready to support Lawrence’s long travels and big dreams!
A Reddit user said: “I’ve said it before, and I’ll probably say it again, but Lawrence does not enough credit for being such a fantastic MC, and core of the series. He’s overshadowed so much by Holo, which is understandable, but it’s their dynamic, their banter, his relationship with her that makes the series, not just her by herself.“
5. Haruka Sakura (Wind Breaker)
In the world of delinquents, Haruka Sakura stands at the pinnacle. He is the main protagonist of Wind Breaker and a first-year student at Furin High School, where he became a member of the delinquent group Bofurin’s Vaisravana Unit. Sakura is often criticized for his heterochromia, a genetic mutation that gave him different-colored irises. This led to the development of his distant and delinquent demeanor, a persona befitting his school’s standoffish nature. There’s a lot to unpack for your aloof neighborhood delinquent. While many of his behaviors may seem scary and hostile, Haruka Sakura is actually a pretty nice guy.
He developed his delinquent personality as a defense mechanism against those who judge his “unusual” physical appearance. Despite being loud and aggressive as a delinquent, his true personality shows outside brawls.
Sakura is usually tame and reserved when not fighting, and fans have even said he’s a tsundere, a character who’s initially standoffish but gradually turns warm and receptive. After involuntarily helping people through his involvement in the community, Sakura is often flustered when receiving gratitude. He’s just a misunderstood delinquent who uses his strength for the greater good of his group and to protect the town. Sometimes, anime husbandos don’t come with elegant horses and long blonde hair; some come with different colored irises and a license to brawl.
A user on X posted: “I’ve never been the kind of chick who had a husbando but if Haruka Sakura was my age and real, l’d be totally down!“
4. Eiji Kitahama (Pseudo Harem)
While Pseudo Harem‘s star is definitely Rin Nanakura, the series’ main protagonist, Eiji Kitahama, also deserves his flowers! Eiji is a second-year Kouban High student and a member of the Drama Club. As a manga lover, he only wishes to be popular with women and have a harem. He might not be the most well-slept anime husbando on this list, but he sure has the biggest dreams of them all!
Eiji Kitahama is a simple boy from the school’s Drama Club. Despite looking like he only sleeps two hours every night, Eiji is a ball of sunshine with some playfulness sprinkled in—pranking Rin the first time they met by claiming to be the club president. He’s a friendly and supportive character who only wants the best for his friends, especially Rin. Eiji is no traveling merchant or a strong and talented combatant, but he’ll simply be there for you in your time of need. If you forgive his dreams of having a harem, it’s easy to adore a character like Eiji Kitahama—your next favorite anime husbando!
An X user posted: “kitahama eiji my clueless himbo <3”
3. Yuuta Asamura (Days with My Stepsister)
The title Days with My Stepsister denotes the existence of a stepbrother. The stepbrother in question and the protagonist of the series is Yuuta Asamura. He is a second-year high school student and, most notably, Saki Ayase’s stepbrother in the series. You might already know Saki from our waifu list, so it’s time we spotlight Yuuta and his rather mysterious personality.
Albeit the usual high school student, Yuuta is more reserved than normal. He spends his time reading books and loves it so much that he works part-time in his local bookstore. Talk about passion, huh? Despite his conscious decision to distance himself from others, he can’t help but show concern for his peers, especially his stepsister. His cold nature comes from the messy history of his biological mother and father, with his mother frequently yelling at and scolding him. However, that doesn’t stop Yuuta from showing his caring side, although very faintly. Love might not be his be-all and end-all, but this anime husbando deserves it like anybody else.
A thread on X said: “His personality is one I genuinely look up to. Learning so much from a fictional character might sound crazy, but it’s just a thing with Yuuta lol. There’s a reason why Saki loves him sm“
2. Hajime Umemiya (Wind Breaker)
Wind Breaker with a double feature in this anime husbando list is a no-brainer. This time, it’s Haruka Sakura’s delinquent group leader, Hajime Umemiya. He is a third-year student at Furin High School and serves as the leader of Bofurin. He is widely loved by the townspeople of Makochi, having established Bofurin to protect and conserve the community. There are plenty of reasons to love Umemiya besides his swept-back white hair and alluring eyes. For starters, he has a personality that makes you think of Satoru Gojo.
While being a leader of a massive group of delinquents inherently makes him terrifying, Umemiya is as loose and friendly as it gets. The trust he gained from his peers and other members of Bofuri is rooted in his charismatic and agreeable personality. As a person of his stature, he’s never afraid to show how proud he is of his group—often encouraging and supporting them with every bit of his being. However, his fighting skills are nothing to scoff at.
He drops the good-guy act and fully acts like a leader of delinquents. Umemiya sees fighting as another way of connecting with people and reaching a mutual decision between parties—not necessarily an act of violence. If you want a whole group of delinquents by your side to protect you and a capable partner in life, Umemiya is the perfect anime husbando for you.

1. Sung Jinwoo (Solo Leveling)
What’s an anime husbando list without Sung Jinwoo? As one of the biggest releases in 2024, Solo Leveling‘s main protagonist gives everyone a run for their money. Not only is he the strongest hunter in the verse, but he’s also extremely intelligent and drop-dead gorgeous. But before he became a handsome cheat code, he was first infamously known as the weakest hunter of all mankind. However, thanks to the System, he was granted the ability to level up without restrictions. This eventually gave him the runway to become humanity’s only hope against the strongest enemies.
While Sung Jinwoo is the strongest hunter in the series, he shows no signs of vanity and overflowing confidence. He lets his powers (mostly his shadows) do all the work, which should be enough to prove his point.
Whether he was the weakest or the strongest in the verse, he always showed love for his family. He participated in every dungeon raid he could to help his family despite being face-to-face with death every time. But now that he’s stronger and more capable of protecting himself, he spoils his family every now and then. Jinwoo is polite to his peers and even easygoing when around his sister and friends. Power means everything, but he’ll drop everything for those he loves. Just don’t get jealous; that fatal face card of his is enough to make anyone fall to their knees.
On a Reddit thread where the OP wrote a whole essay about their love for Jinwoo, a user simply replied: “Me too (Straight guy).“
