Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! follows Tokyo teen Tsubasa Shiki, who moves to snowy Hokkaido and meets the lively Minami Fuyuki, a local gal who welcomes him with open arms. Through Tsubasa’s eyes, we experience Hokkaido’s breathtaking beauty, its traditions, and the friendships that define the series. Minami and the other girls of Hokkaido help Tsubasa discover a deeper meaning to life, love, and friendship.
Fast forward to the final chapter – Tsubasa is walking his daughter Mio down the aisle (yes, you read that right!). As he is doing that, he also thinks back to his first meeting with Minami; Tsubasa is overwhelmed by everything they’ve shared.
The series ends with his final monologue: “Since you were there… since it was you… I came to Hokkaido, and I met you… and I’ve been happy ever since… thank you, Fuyuki-san, for all these years… and for all the years to come.” Not many romance manga start well…end well. But Hokkaido Gals is different. Kai Ikida not only ended the story well but also gave Tsubasa and Minami a happy ending.
